Ousmane’s Story

Ousmane is 8 years old and lives in Banjul, Gambia. Both Ousmane’s parents are dead. He was left to his widowed aunt. Now, thanks to your help, Ousmane doesn’t have to work anymore to support himself and his family.

As a sponsored child, he is now taken in care by the local orphanage where he receives food and clothing. He is attending school for the first time in his life. Now he feels like any other child and he can study to strive towards his dream of one day becoming a doctor.

After school, Ousmane now has time to play with other children. This newfound childhood gives him the joy that every child in the world deserves. When he gets home to see his aunt and cousins, they are all so proud and happy that he finally has a chance to grow out of misery.
