Safeguarding @ Orphans in Need

Orphans in Need believe that every child, everywhere, has the right to a happy and healthy life.

All children have a right to protection from violence, exploitation, abuse and neglect.

We are a child-focused organisation and we are committed to making sure children are kept safe and that our staff never exploit the position of trust in which they have been placed.

Orphans in Need treats all allegations of abuse very seriously. We do not tolerate of any form of harm to children, perpetrated by staff, partners, or anyone else that we have given authority to.

We are committed to continually learning and improving in order to protect our staff, volunteers and beneficiaries from sexual harassment and abuse.

As we focus only on the care of orphans, we spend time training our partners in safeguarding and delivering appropriate care to children in many countries. This is carried out through facilitating training sessions, monitoring visits and implementing procedures where the care-givers are required to abide by key principles in relation to safeguarding and development of children.
