A Friend inneed…

Many orphans have seen the worst in their young ages and have been through the toughest of times that we wouldn’t even be able to handle the thought of. What gets them through their worst days are the friends they have made along the way. 

Orphans have seen one (or both) of their parents die. They have been kicked out of their homes and forced to live on the streets, forced to make a living by going through rubbish to find food or something they can sell. Many orphans watch other children make their way to school, as they sit barely clothed waiting for their chance to go to school. So many children end up working at young ages, risking their lives for jobs they are too small to handle. They have been persuaded into dealing drugs, being forced into using substances and falling victim to abuse from the people they thought they could trust. 

But, when they feel like their punishment will never end, they find comfort in their friends. For an orphaned child a friend is the family they have chosen to stay with them through the good times and the bad times, who they can trust to make them laugh when they cry. They become each other’s support system, protecting each other from getting hurt and encouraging each other to carry on as any true friend would.

When they have no one in this world, their friends become their world.
